Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of golang / ig installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2022-2879 advisory.

 - Reader.Read does not set a limit on the maximum size of file headers. A maliciously crafted archive could cause Read to allocate unbounded amounts of memory, potentially causing resource exhaustion or panics.
 After fix, Reader.Read limits the maximum size of header blocks to 1 MiB. (CVE-2022-2879)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
