Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of qemu installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2021-4158 advisory.

 - A NULL pointer dereference issue was found in the ACPI code of QEMU. A malicious, privileged user within the guest could use this flaw to crash the QEMU process on the host, resulting in a denial of service condition. (CVE-2021-4158)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
