Description

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-202408-27 (AFLplusplus: Arbitrary Code Execution)

In AFL++ 4.05c, the CmpLog component uses the current working directory to resolve and execute unprefixed fuzzing targets, allowing code execution.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Gentoo Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

All AFLplusplus users should upgrade to the latest version:
