Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K000140693 advisory.

 Potential SSRF in mod_rewrite in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.59 and earlier allows an attacker to cause unsafe RewriteRules to unexpectedly setup URL's to be handled by mod_proxy. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.60, which fixes this issue.(CVE-2024-39573)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

The vendor has acknowledged the vulnerability, but no solution has been provided.
