Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to kcron.

Description

The version of kcron installed on the remote host is prior to 21.12.3. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2024-240-01 advisory.

New kcron packages are available for Slackware 15.0 to fix a security issue.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the kcron security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the affected kcron package.
