Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 LTS / 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS / 24.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-6987-1 advisory.

 It was discovered that Django incorrectly handled certain inputs. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service. (CVE-2024-45230)

 It was discovered that Django incorrectly handled certain email sending failures. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to enumerate user emails by issuing password reset requests and observing the outcomes. (CVE-2024-45231)

Solution

Update the affected python-django, python-django-common and / or python3-django packages.
