Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.02, has python3 packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- Python ssl.SSLSocket is vulnerable to a bypass of the TLS handshake in certain instances for HTTPS servers and other server-side protocols that use TLS client authentication such as mTLS. This issue may result in a breach of integrity as its possible to modify or delete resources that are authenticated only by a TLS certificate. No breach of confidentiality is possible. (CVE-2023-40217)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL python3 packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
