Golang < 1.22.7, 1.23.x < 1.23.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Nessus Plugin ID 206981

Synopsis

An application installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Golang running on the remote host is either prior to 1.22.7 or 1.23.x prior to 1.23.1. It is, therefore, is affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- Calling any of the Parse functions on Go source code which contains deeply nested literals can cause a panic due to stack exhaustion. (CVE-2024-34155)

- Calling Decoder.Decode on a message which contains deeply nested structures can cause a panic due to stack exhaustion. (CVE-2024-34156)

- Calling Parse on a '// +build' build tag line with deeply nested expressions can cause a panic due to stack exhaustion. (CVE-2024-34158)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Golang Go version 1.22.7, 1.23.1, or later.
