Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of libnbd installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-7383 advisory.

- A flaw was found in libnbd. The client did not always correctly verify the NBD server's certificate when using TLS to connect to an NBD server. This issue allows a man-in-the-middle attack on NBD traffic.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
