Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of systemd installed on the remote host is prior to 219-78. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2024-2636 advisory.

 An issue was discovered in systemd 253. An attacker can modify the contents of past events in a sealed log file and then adjust the file such that checking the integrity shows no error, despite modifications.
 NOTE: the vendor reportedly sent a reply denying that any of the finding was a security vulnerability.

Run 'yum update systemd' to update your system.
