Synopsis

The antivirus running on the remote host is affected by a Denial of Service vulnerability.

Description

The ClamAV reported version is < 103.12, 1.0.x < 1.0.7, 1.1.0 < x < 1.3.2, or 1.4.0 < 1.4.1 It is, therefore, affected by a Denial of Service vulnerability in the PDF parsing module, where an attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting a crafted PDF file to be scanned by ClamAV on an affected device.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to ClamAV version 1.4.1, 1.3.2, 1.0.7, or 0.103.12 or later.
