Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of heimdal / samba installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2022-3116 advisory.

 - The Heimdal Software Kerberos 5 implementation is vulnerable to a null pointer dereferance. An attacker with network access to an application that depends on the vulnerable code path can cause the application to crash. (CVE-2022-3116)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
