Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Firefox ESR installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 128.3.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2024-51 advisory.

- An attacker was able to achieve code execution in the content process by exploiting a use-after-free in Animation timelines. We have had reports of this vulnerability being exploited in the wild.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox ESR version 128.3.1 or later.
