Synopsis

The remote CentOS Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2020:5129 advisory.

 - Net-SNMP through 5.8 has Improper Privilege Management because SNMP WRITE access to the EXTEND MIB provides the ability to run arbitrary commands as root. (CVE-2020-15862)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
