Synopsis

The remote host has an application installed that is missing a security update.

Description

The version of Microsoft Visual Studio Code installed on the remote Linux host is prior to 1.94.1. It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability. A remote attacker can use this to execute arbitrary commands.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Microsoft Visual Studio Code 1.94.1 or later.
