Synopsis

The Adobe Substance 3D Painter application installed on the remote host is affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Substance 3D Painter installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 10.1.0. It is, therefore, affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability as referenced in the APSB24-52 advisory that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Substance 3D Painter 10.1.0 or later.
