Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Firefox installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 131.0.3. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2024-53 advisory.

- When manipulating the selection node cache, an attacker may have been able to cause unexpected behavior, potentially leading to an exploitable crash. (CVE-2024-9936)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox version 131.0.3 or later.
