Synopsis

SolarWinds Platform is affected by a vulnerability

Description

The version of SolarWinds Platform installed on the remote host is prior to 2024.4. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the solarwinds_platform_2024_4 advisory.

 - SolarWinds Platform is susceptible to an Uncontrolled Search Path Element Local Privilege Escalation vulnerability. This requires a low privilege account and local access to the affected node machine.
 (CVE-2024-45710)

 - The SolarWinds Platform was susceptible to a Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability when performing an edit function to existing elements. (CVE-2024-45715)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to SolarWinds Platform version 2024.4 or later.
