Synopsis

The Adobe After Effects instance installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe After Effects installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 17.1.1. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB20-35 advisory.

- Adobe After Effects versions 17.1 and earlier have an out-of-bounds write vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution . (CVE-2020-9660, CVE-2020-9662)

- Adobe After Effects versions 17.1 and earlier have an out-of-bounds read vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution . (CVE-2020-9661)

- Adobe After Effects versions 17.1 and earlier have a heap overflow vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution . (CVE-2020-9637, CVE-2020-9638)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe After Effects version 17.1.1 or later.
