Synopsis

The Adobe InCopy instance installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe InCopy installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 16.2.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB21-25 advisory.

- Adobe InCopy version 16.0 (and earlier) is affected by an path traversal vulnerability when parsing a crafted file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve remote code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2021-21090)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe InCopy version 16.2.1 or later.
