Synopsis
The Adobe Character Animator instance installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.Description
The version of Adobe Character Animator installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 4.4. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB21-59 advisory.- Adobe Character Animator version 4.2 (and earlier) is affected by an out-of-bounds Read vulnerability when parsing a specially crafted file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to disclose arbitrary memory information in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2021-36001)
- Adobe Character Animator version 4.2 (and earlier) is affected by a memory corruption vulnerability when parsing a specially crafted file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2021-36000)
Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Upgrade to Adobe Character Animator version 4.4 or later.See Also
