Synopsis

The Adobe Dreamweaver instance installed on the remote host is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Dreamweaver installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 21.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB20-55 advisory.

 - Dreamweaver version 20.2 (and earlier) is affected by an uncontrolled search path element vulnerability that could lead to privilege escalation. Successful exploitation could result in a local user with permissions to write to the file system running system commands with administrator privileges.
 (CVE-2020-24425)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Dreamweaver version 21.0 or later.
