Synopsis

The Adobe Illustrator instance installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe Illustrator installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 24.0. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB19-36 advisory.

- Adobe Illustrator CC versions 23.1 and earlier have a memory corruption vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution . (CVE-2019-8247, CVE-2019-8248)

- Adobe Illustrator CC versions 23.1 and earlier have an insecure library loading (dll hijacking) vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to privilege escalation. (CVE-2019-7962)

- Binary Planting potentially leading to Local Code Execution (CVE-2019-16447)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Illustrator version 24.0 or later.
