Synopsis

The remote install of Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server has a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server installed on the remote Windows host is prior to Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server 2022 17.2.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the apsb24-10 advisory.

- Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server versions 2022.1 and earlier are affected by an Improper Authentication vulnerability that could result in a Security feature bypass. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass authentication mechanisms and gain unauthorized access. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction. (CVE-2024-20738)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server Version 2022.2 or later.
