Synopsis

The remote install of Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server has a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server installed on the remote Windows host is prior to Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server 2022 17.0.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the apsb23-58 advisory.

- Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server versions 2022 and earlier are affected by an Improper Authentication vulnerability that could result in a Security feature bypass. An unauthenticated attacker can abuse this vulnerability to access the API and leak default admin's password. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction. (CVE-2023-44324)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server Version 2022 Update 1 or later.
