Synopsis

The Adobe Digital Editions instance installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Digital Editions installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 3.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB14-03 advisory.

 - Adobe Digital Editions 2.0.1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via unspecified vectors. (CVE-2014-0494)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Digital Editions version 3.0 or later.
