Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to openssl.

Description

The version of openssl installed on the remote host is prior to 1.1.1zb. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2024-295-01 advisory.

New openssl packages are available for Slackware 15.0 to fix a security issue.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the openssl security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the affected openssl package.
