Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FortiWeb installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-23-068 advisory.

 - A protection mechanism failure in Fortinet FortiWeb 7.2.0 through 7.2.1, 7.0.0 through 7.0.6, 6.4.0 through 6.4.3, 6.3.6 through 6.3.23 allows attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via specially crafted HTTP requests. (CVE-2023-34984)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to FortiWeb version 6.3.24 / 6.4.4 / 7.0.7 / 7.2.2 or later.
