Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of Fortigate installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-22-074 advisory.

- An insufficient verification of data authenticity vulnerability [CWE-345] in FortiClient, FortiMail and FortiOS AV engines version 6.2.168 and below and version 6.4.274 and below may allow an attacker to bypass the AV engine via manipulating MIME attachment with junk and pad characters in base64. (CVE-2022-26122)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Please upgrade to FortiOS version 6.00169/6.00275/7.0.8/7.2.2 or later.
