Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FortiWeb installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-21-046 advisory.

 - A buffer underwrite vulnerability in the firmware verification routine of FortiOS before 7.0.1 may allow an attacker located in the adjacent network to potentially execute arbitrary code via a specifically crafted firmware image. (CVE-2021-24018)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Please upgrade to FortiWeb version 6.3.16/6.4.2/7.0.0 or later.
