* openssl: Use After Free with SSL_free_buffers (CVE-2024-4741)

* openssl: SSL_select_next_proto buffer overread (CVE-2024-5535)

For more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS score, acknowledgments, and other related information, refer to the CVE page(s) listed in the References section.

Additional Changes:

For detailed information on changes in this release, see the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 Release Notes linked from the References section.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL openssl / openssl-fips-provider packages based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:9333.
