SAP NetWeaver AS Java Multiple Vulnerabilities (November 2024)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 210894

Synopsis

The remote SAP NetWeaver application server is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

SAP NetWeaver Application Server for Java is affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- Due to missing authorization check in SAP NetWeaver AS Java (System Landscape Directory) an unauthorized user can read and modify some restricted global SLD configurations causing low impact on confidentiality and integrity of the application. (CVE-2024-42372)

- SAP NetWeaver AS Java allows an unauthenticated attacker to brute force the login functionality in order to identify the legitimate user IDs. This has an impact on confidentiality but not on integrity or availability. (CVE-2024-47592)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the vendor advisory.
