Description

The version of GitLab installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability, as follows:

- An issue has been discovered in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 16.0 before 17.3.7, 17.4 before 17.4.4, and 17.5 before 17.5.2. The vulnerability could allow an attacker to inject malicious JavaScript code in Analytics Dashboards through a specially crafted URL. (CVE-2024-8648)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to GitLab version 17.3.7, 17.4.4, 17.5.2 or later.
