Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of glib installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-52533 advisory.

 - gio/gsocks4aproxy.c in GNOME GLib before 2.82.1 has an off-by-one error and resultant buffer overflow because SOCKS4_CONN_MSG_LEN is not sufficient for a trailing '\0' character. (CVE-2024-52533)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
