Synopsis

The remote PAN-OS host is affected by a vulnerability

Description

The version of Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS running on the remote host is 10.1.x prior to 10.1.10 or 10.2.x prior to 10.2.5 or 11.0.x prior to 11.0.2. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability.

 A blind XML External Entities (XXE) injection vulnerability in the Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS software enables an authenticated attacker to exfiltrate arbitrary files from firewalls to an attacker controlled server. This attack requires network access to the firewall management interface.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to PAN-OS 10.1.10 / 10.2.5 / 11.0.2 or later
