Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of hvloader installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-23775 advisory.

 - Integer Overflow vulnerability in Mbed TLS 2.x before 2.28.7 and 3.x before 3.5.2, allows attackers to cause a denial of service (DoS) via mbedtls_x509_set_extension(). (CVE-2024-23775)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
