Synopsis

The Adobe After Effects instance installed on the remote host is affected by a memory leak vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe After Effects installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 24.6.3, 25.1.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB24-95 advisory.

- After Effects versions 24.6.2, 25.0.1 and earlier are affected by a Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.
Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe After Effects version 24.6.3, 25.1.0 or later.
