Tenable Security Center < 6.5.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities (TNS-2024-20)

critical Nessus Plugin ID 212669

Synopsis

An instance of Security Center installed on the remote system is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the Tenable Security Center running on the remote host is prior to 6.5.1. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TNS-2024-20 advisory.

- In PHP versions 8.1.* before 8.1.31, 8.2.* before 8.2.26, 8.3.* before 8.3.14, uncontrolled long string inputs to ldap_escape() function on 32-bit systems can cause an integer overflow, resulting in an out-of- bounds write. (CVE-2024-11236, CVE-2024-8932)

- In PHP versions 8.1.* before 8.1.31, 8.2.* before 8.2.26, 8.3.* before 8.3.14, due to an error in convert.quoted-printable-decode filter certain data can lead to buffer overread by one byte, which can in certain circumstances lead to crashes or disclose content of other memory areas. (CVE-2024-11233)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply Patch SC-202412.1 or Upgrade to Tenable Security Center 6.5.1 or later.
