Synopsis

The remote web server hosts an application that is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus installed on the remote host is prior to 14.9 Build 14920. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the service-desk_CVE-2024-50053 advisory.

- A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability allowed authenticated technicians to upload a malicious HTML file during task creation. The payload would be executed when other technicians or administrators (or SDAdmins) interact with the file. (CVE-2024-50053)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus version 14.9 Build 14920 or later.
