Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of docker-cli / moby-cli / moby-compose / moby-engine installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-36623 advisory.

 - moby v25.0.3 has a Race Condition vulnerability in the streamformatter package which can be used to trigger multiple concurrent write operations resulting in data corruption or application crashes.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
