Synopsis

A VPN solution installed on the remote host is affected by a local privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

The Ivanti Connect Secure install on the remote host is 9.x, or 22.x prior to 22.7R2.5. It is, therefore, affected by a local privilege escalation vulnerability:

 - A stack-based buffer overflow in Ivanti Connect Secure before version 22.7R2.5, Ivanti Policy Secure before version 22.7R1.2, and Ivanti Neurons for ZTA gateways before version 22.7R2.3 allows a local authenticated attacker to escalate their privileges. (CVE-2025-0283)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Ivanti Connect Secure 22.7R2.5 or later.
