Synopsis

The Microsoft Office Web Apps installation on the remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The Microsoft Office Web Apps installation on the remote host is missing a security update. It is, therefore, affected by the following:

 - A remote code execution vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this to bypass authentication and execute unauthorized commands. (CVE-2025-21345, CVE-2025-21354, CVE-2025-21362)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Microsoft has released KB5002677 to address this issue.
