Mattermost Server 10.0.x < 10.3 (MMSA-2024-00400)

low Nessus Plugin ID 214345

Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of Mattermost Server installed on the remote host is prior to 10.3. It is, therefore, affected by a improper access control vulnerability as referenced in the MMSA-2024-00400 advisory due to a failure to accurately reflect missing settings, which allows confusion for admins regarding a Calls security-sensitive configuration via incorrect UI reporting. This could cause confusion on the state of a possibly security-sensitive configuration option in Calls.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mattermost Server version 10.3 or later.
