Synopsis

A PDF editing application installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of PDF-XChange Editor installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 10.4.1.389. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - A vulnerability that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of PDF-XChange Editor. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of AcroForms. The issue results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. (CVE-2025-0899)

 - A vulnerability that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of PDF-XChange Editor. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. (CVE-2025-0901)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to PDF-XChange Editor version 10.4.1.389 or later.
