Azure Linux 3.0 Security Update: glibc (CVE-2023-5156)

Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of glibc installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2023-5156 advisory.

 - A flaw was found in the GNU C Library. A recent fix for CVE-2023-4806 introduced the potential for a memory leak, which May result in an application crash. (CVE-2023-5156)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
