Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of ntfs-3g installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2023-52890 advisory.

 - NTFS-3G before 75dcdc2 has a use-after-free in ntfs_uppercase_mbs in libntfs-3g/unistr.c. NOTE: discussion suggests that exploitation would be challenging. (CVE-2023-52890)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
