Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of kernel installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-57850 advisory.

 - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jffs2: Prevent rtime decompress memory corruption The rtime decompression routine does not fully check bounds during the entirety of the decompression pass and can corrupt memory outside the decompression buffer if the compressed data is corrupted. This adds the required check to prevent this failure mode. (CVE-2024-57850)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Update the affected packages.
