Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FortiWeb installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FG-IR-23-115 advisory.

 - Two improper handling of syntactically invalid structure vulnerabilities [CWE-228] in FortiWeb may allowan unauthenticated attacker to bypass web firewall protections via HTTP/S crafted requests.
 (CVE-2024-55594)

 - An improper handling of syntactically invalid structure in Fortinet FortiWeb at least verions 7.4.0 through 7.4.6 and 7.2.0 through 7.2.10 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.10 allows attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via HTTP/S crafted requests. (CVE-2023-42784)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

For 7.0.x / 7.2.x, see vendor advisory. For 7.4.x, upgrade to FortiWeb version 7.4.7 or later.
