Description

The version of Microsoft Office for Mac installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the march-11-2025 advisory.

 - Untrusted pointer dereference in Microsoft Office allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
 (CVE-2025-24083)

 - Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. (CVE-2025-24075)

 - Use after free in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
 (CVE-2025-24081, CVE-2025-24082)

 - Use after free in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
 (CVE-2025-24077, CVE-2025-24078, CVE-2025-24079)

 - Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
 (CVE-2025-24057)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to Office for Mac version 16.95 or later.
