Synopsis

The remote RockyLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote RockyLinux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RLSA-2024:9192 advisory.

 * python: The zipfile module is vulnerable to zip-bombs leading to denial of service (CVE-2024-0450)

 * python: cpython: Iterating over a malicious ZIP file may lead to Denial of Service (CVE-2024-8088)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the RockyLinux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
